This website contains recommended management practices (BMPs) to prevent or reduce mycotoxins in grains. The website contains pre-harvest and post-harvest BMPs.

The word mycotoxin refers to a group of chemical compounds produced by fungi (mold) that possess toxin properties. Action levels for aflatoxin and fumonisin are contained within the Texas Administrative Code Title 4 (Chapter 61). The BMPs required by law contain reference and hot links to the regulation and policy.

Creation of the BMPs represents the outcome of a close working relationship between the Office of the Texas State Chemist, the feed and grain industry, and Texas A&M research and extension.
