Aflatoxin: There are no varieties with resistance to aflatoxin. To reduce the level of contamination, varieties should have adaptation to moisture stress, in addition to resistance to pod rot organisms and insects.

Under south Texas conditions, large-seed Virginia varieties seem to be more prone to aflatoxin contamination than Spanish or runners.
